ShowGuide: Our Electronic Program Guide

ShowShifter includes ShowGuide, a full screen programme guide that allows you to see what is on, and set recordings and reminders, search for your favourite show with just the click of a button.

Here are some screenshots to give you an idea of what's in store.

When you first enter ShowGuide you can choose how you would like to see your program listings. You can choose between a multi-channel grid view, a single channel detail view, search for a particular show, and see what ShowGuide is keeping track of for you.

The grid view shows 2 hours worth of programming for several channels at once. The most convenient way to plan your viewing:

How to get data in ShowGuide

ShowGuide cannot make up the data it displays, it needs to source it from somewhere. At the moment there are two ways of doing this:

DVB Receivers

Many DVB broadcasters transmit EPG data along with their regular broadcasts. Often this includes at least now and next information, but if you're lucky it could include several days of programme listings. For instance, in the UK Freeview transmits data for upto 8 days in the future. Naturally ShowShifter collects the data and displays it in ShowGuide.

 Europe, USA and Other Countries

Users in many countries can view fully integrated channel listings and set recordings with ShowShifter's own ShowGuide. To do this you need to import the TV listings using XMLTV. Please see the full instructions in our knowledgebase.

TitanTV and DigiGuide

Support for these products has ceased and users are encouraged to switch to one of the data sources listed above, or develop their own solution for continued use of these products with ShowShifter.
